Presence

Change is the only constant.

That which is  "Contained" is trapped, immobilized. With meditative stillness, that which is contained becomes less and less, until it evaporates.

"The End of Food" is an installation in which the runner and the plates are made from Saltine Crackers. The earth has become a desert, dry and unable to support life. The importance of staying adaptable to sustainable practices are expressed in the piece without which we might find ourselves at the last supper.

WHAT LIES BENEATH

WHAT TRUTHS BENEATH

Sometimes we get out-of-touch with the way that we feel. In the day to day, in the habit of "appropriate" behavior. Deep-seeded feelings get buried and ancient as artifacts. From the stillness of a barren blank-faced surface, if allowed, and nurtured,  this feeling may unfold and flower. Bubbling to the surface like lava from the core.

THE DREAMCATCHER

I'VE HAD SOME PROPHETIC DREAMS

I did a very short theater piece about one of these dreams. In it I am a character from my dream, who is an alternate version of myself. This is a true story. It was created at PCC (Portland Community College) and performed at Milepost 5 (an art community in Portland, Oregon) and can be performed in many venues (as it requires no set, no stage, no special lighting or effects).

Penny Michelle Taylor, a photographer/videographer, jeweler and fine artist, photographed the piece and made an art video of the work. Her photos of the piece are featured here.

LIFE IN MOTION

THE CIRCUITRY THAT CONNECTS ALL THINGS

An ever-changing shift of dynamics, one thing affecting another and on and on. The dynamics of the natural world reflected in the dynamics of the human experience. All of life is interconnected. Never static. Permeable. Interdependent.
